Growing up in Panama, there were a lot of commercials on
channels 8 & 10 SCN, the "Southern Command Network" that I remembered.
Below is a collection of many popular program clips, commercials, and station bumper ID's that aired during the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
Also some cool American TV shows with scenes in Panama.

Growing up in the Canal Zone we got used to watching SCN, but for those of us that knew how to speak Spanish...we ventured into the Spanish channels.  Most of the commercials were recorded from old Sony Betamax tapes!
Here is the channel lineup that we used to have on TV at the time.

TVN, Canal 2 is the second television company in Panama that has operated since its inauguration on April 23, 1962 in Panama City, and is also a pioneer in the advertising industry, together with its older sister, the first Panamanian television company, RPC Television, Channel 4. Of course.

RPC Canal 4, the pioneer of television in Panama, the RPC circuit known as Radio Programas Continental, founded by Ing. Fernando Eleta Almarán (RIP), on March 14, 1960. Currently belongs to the MEDCOM corporation since 1997 since the merger with the company Media Panameños SA Telemetro Panamá, Canal 13, owned by Nicolás Gonzalez Revilla.

Panavisión Canal 5 de Panamá was a television station that operated during the years of 1983 until the beginning of 1988 as an alternative to the TVN channels Canal 2, RPC Canal 4 and Telemetro Canal 13. Currently Canal 5 is a Foundation of the Catholic Church of Panama from 1992 that offers totally educational and family programming.

Telemetro Canal 13 began broadcasting on October 13, 1981. Founded by Nicolás González Revilla, as a metropolitan channel specializing in films. It began transmissions at 4:00 p.m. and ended at 9:00 p.m. The original purpose was to present films, but it stopped shortly after. However, it kept the slogan "Your Movie Channel" for years.
The expansion of Telemetro began in 1983, when it installed a relay antenna in Colón. In 1992, Telemetro became a national television service.
